Managing Director @ UK Battery Industrialisation Centre
In June 2018, Jeff Pratt took up the role as the founding Managing Director for the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC). UKBIC is a new open access national facility which will offer capabilities to allow companies to trial, develop and scale up manufacturing processes associated with battery technologies from electrodes through to modules and packs.
Jeff was previously General Manager at Nissan’s lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant based in Sunderland UK. He joined Nissan in 1987 and has held various management positions within the vehicle manufacturing plant at Sunderland which included responsibility for the construction, commissioning and operation of Nissan’s UK battery plant.
Jeff brings extensive experience in Production Engineering, Facility Engineering as well as more than 20 years’ senior management experience. He has had responsibility for delivering a range of new model and facility projects as well as managing daily operations in part of the biggest car manufacturing facility in the UK.
